Becker muscular dystrophy (BMD) is one of nine types of muscular dystrophies. It is related to Duchenne muscular dystrophyin that both result from a mutation in the dystrophin gene but has a milder course. The heart muscle, however, can be affected similarly to the way it can be in DMD. Living with Becker muscular dystrophy can present specific social and psychosocial issues that will be reported along this program through narrative and specific materials.
